Project Information

The Macon-Bibb County Planning and Zoning Commission announces a new project focused on producing updated  Design Guidelines for four of Macon's local historic districts. The historic districts included in this initiative are Intown, Central Business District, Vineville, and Cherokee Heights. Each district represents an integral part of Macon's rich cultural and architectural heritage.

The Macon-Bibb County Planning and Zoning Commission has contracted Ethos Preservation to facilitate the creation of new guidelines, which will preserve and enhance the architectural integrity of these historic districts.  The first phase of the project is now underway, to include research, documentation, and community engagement.

The Macon-Bibb County Planning and Zoning Commission seeks to engage with residents to gain insight from the user’s perspective and set goals for the future to ensure that guidelines meet the needs of the community in concert with preservation best practices. The second phase of community meetings are set for October.

Thursday, October 24th, 6pm-7pm (Vritual-Zoom)
Friday, October 25th, 1pm-2pm
